| This international conference was held on November 26th and 27th, Maison de l’UNESCO in Paris, France. In the wake of the 2007 International PROMETEA conference, the participants expressed the desire to reflect on the question ofthe scientific and technological careers of women and to pursue the dialogue between Human and Social Sciences on the one hand, and the preoccupations and reality of corporate life on the other hand. | This international conference will be held on October 26th and 27th, in Paris, France. It is organized within the framework of the PROMETEA project, by the French members of the consortium: Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan (ENS Cachan), Institut National de Sciences Appliquées de Lyon (INSA Lyon), the Conference of the Heads of French Engineering Schools (CDEFI) and the association ECEPIE. | Anne-Sophie Genin, Liisa Husu, Felizitas Sagebiel and Minna Salminen-Karlsson will participate in the XVI International Sociological Association (ISA) World Conference of Sociology in Durban, South Africa, July 22 – 29, 2006 and give presentations linked to PROMETEA and WOMENG themes. Liisa Husu will be co-chairing a session on Feminist perspectives on the academy, which is part of the conference programme of the ISA Research Committee Women in Society. Anne-Sophie Genin and Felizitas Sagebiel will give a presentation reflecting on experiences in the multi-national and interdisciplinary WOMENG project on women’s careers in engineering, Felizitas Sagebiel together with Anina Mischau will give a presentation on women engineers making a career in academia in Germany, Minna Salminen-Karlsson on experiences of industrial graduate students in Sweden, and Liisa Husu on gate-keeping, gender and scientific excellence. | Yvonne Pourrat and Anne-Sophie Genin presented the project to the representatives of 23 companies members of the “Women in Science and Technology – the business perspective” group, in presence of Johanes Klumpers and Marina Marchetti from the European Commission. |
